Bhubaneswar's KIIT Ranked 30th in Overall Category among Indian Universities

Founded in the year 1992, this private establishment is one of the most highly regarded engineering institutes in all of India, let alone Bhubaneswar. A brief history of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology
Formerly known as KIIT, this institute was started with only twelve students and two faculty members by Achyuta Samanta, P.K. Mishra, and C. R. Mishra, who aimed to find an organisation that offered profound learning in the engineering sector in India. Later in the year 1997, the School of Computer and School of Technology was founded, and with that, this university started gaining traction in the engineering society. That said, this school had very slow but steady growth. Only after 2004 was it conferred the status of a deemed university and then renamed to KIIT University.
Since then, the university has witnessed immense growth, with the KIIT School of Rural Management, School of Biotechnology and School of Medicine is founded in the year 2007. Later in the year 2017, the university's name was changed back to Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology as a reply to the request from all institutes deemed to be universities to not use university in the title of KIIT. It was then recognised as an Institute of Eminence by MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) in 2019 and now is considered to be one of the top 30 schools amongst all Indian universities.
